Invictus Energy Signs Historic Zimbabwe Gas Deal at Cabora Bassa

Zimbabwe has just crossed a line it has been inching towards for a decade.

Invictus Energy and Harare have sealed a Petroleum Production Sharing Agreement for the Cabora Bassa gas project, locking in the rules for one of Southern Africa's most watched onshore basins.

1.2 trillion cubic feet of gas in target. 73 million barrels of liquids. Qatari capital already on the cap table at 19.9% and up to US$500 million pledged. National Project Status from the Ministry of Finance. Gas-to-power studies already underway, with Eureka Gold Mine as the pilot off-taker.

This is the moment Cabora Bassa stops being a geology story and starts looking like a financeable gas province.

If Musuma-1 drills clean and Mukuyu volumes firm up, Zimbabwe walks into the Southern African Power Pool with leverage instead of a begging bowl.
